Originally from Sandy, Utah, he still calls Sandy home today. He first attended Warrior Heart Boot Camp in 2016 and now serves on the foundation team, helping raise funds for men to attend Boot Camp. He works in training and speaking, loves connecting with other men, and enjoys building and fixing things. He and his wife, Aubree, have five children, and he even has a hidden talent for sewing. One of his favorite Boot Camp memories is when, after a sleepless, anxiety-filled night, the team called him out with love, rallied around him, and showed true brotherhood—helping him feel seen, turn a corner, and keep showing up for the men.
Originally from Boise, Idaho, he now splits his time between Boise and Salt Lake City. He attended his first Warrior Heart Boot Camp in Wanship, Utah, in 2020 and now helps run the Warrior Heart Foundation, which helps men receive scholarships to attend Boot Camp. A proud dad of four, he’s still “working on” finding his beauty. He loves anything with sports and competition, does nonprofit work, and is surprisingly skilled at giving great hugs. A favorite Boot Camp memory is the Haka and shooting guns, and a go-to scripture is Proverbs 3:5–6.
Jim Gillman grew up in Vineyard, Utah, and now lives in Cedar Hills. He attended the very first Utah Boot Camp in 2009 and now serves behind the scenes with bookkeeping, accounting, and keeping the snack table well-stocked. Jim has been a mortgage broker for over 30 years and has a gift for connecting one-on-one with men facing addiction. He and his wife Lauana have four children, eight grandchildren, and love traveling together. Whether he’s throwing skeet, riding ATVs, or welcoming new men to Boot Camp, Jim’s favorite moments come from witnessing God change lives in powerful, personal ways.
Born in Germany and raised as an Army brat, he’s lived all over but now calls Gilbert, Arizona, home. He attended his first Warrior Heart Boot Camp in 2018 and now serves as the ringleader for the Arizona camp and a steady supporter of others. A small business owner in commercial cabinetry, he’s a husband to Tricia and a dad of five. He loves camping, riding, and shooting with family and friends. Known for remembering dates (just not his kids’ birthdays), his favorite Boot Camp memory is arriving as a stranger and being welcomed like a lifelong brother.

He serves on the speaking team, helping keep the message alive and bringing the warrior spirit to Warrior Heart through brotherhood and connection. A Certified Master Life Coach and motivational speaker, he loves hiking, kayaking, fishing, quads, and fighting for men’s hearts. He and his wife, Autumn, have three kids and one grandson. His favorite part of Boot Camp is watching lives change through prayer and encountering God.
Duane, originally from Taylorsville, Utah, now lives in American Fork and has been part of Warrior Heart since 2010. He serves as Executive Director of Operations and a speaker, helping lead and shape the Boot Camp experience. Duane is married to Elissa and is a proud father of six and grandpa to three. A District Sales Manager and entrepreneur, he also serves in men’s ministry and coaching roles. He loves cycling, traveling the world, and embracing his inner kid with his grandkids. His favorite Boot Camp moments come from seeing men reconnect with God and rediscover joy.
Mike Peterson is a Sandy, Utah native who still lives in his childhood home—now owned by him after buying it from his parents a decade ago. He joined his first Warrior Heart Boot Camp in 2017 and now serves as the team’s go-to AV guy. Mike is a third-generation owner of SugarHouse Awning & Canvas Products and a self-proclaimed “armchair therapist” for the men around him. He and his wife Tami have five kids (plus a daughter-in-law), and he enjoys singing with his man-band a cappella group. His first time on the prayer team remains a life-changing Boot Camp highlight.
Kurt Francom, originally from West Valley City, now lives in American Fork, Utah. He attended his first Warrior Heart Boot Camp in 2018 and now serves on the speaking team while managing event registrations. Kurt loves traveling the country to facilitate Boot Camps alongside great men. He’s been married to his wife Alanna—an Idaho farm girl—for over 20 years, and together they have three kids (two girls and a boy). Kurt also leads a global nonprofit supporting church leaders and side-hustles as a caricature artist. A standout memory? Helping launch the first East Coast Boot Camp in Virginia.
Morgan Selph has been part of A Warrior Heart Ministries since 2013, when his first Boot Camp experience truly changed his life. Since then, he’s embraced God’s call to live a larger story through intentional adventure and strong brotherhood. A proud dad of three and grandpa to four, Morgan’s heart is full—though he still finds plenty of ways to feel like a kid again. You’ll most likely find him outdoors, especially behind the wheel on a 4×4 off-road adventure, where dirt, rocks, and open trails are his happy place.
Doug Nielsen was born in Salt Lake City and now calls Farmington, Utah home. A co-founder of Warrior Heart’s first Boot Camp in 2009, Doug serves in a leadership role (think CEO-ish), helping guide the mission. By “day job,” he’s a psychotherapist, leadership coach, motivational speaker, and bestselling author. He’s a dad to four (two boys, two girls) and grandpa to two grandsons. Doug loves adventure—currently canyoneering tops the list—and music, from writing songs to once being a high school heavy metal screamer. His favorite part of Boot Camp? Witnessing lives changed by God in powerful, unforgettable ways.
